It seems as if it would be an unnatural occurrence in any world, really.

[He couldn't help it: that flick of his own lips, that sneer. Perhaps it was not particularly flattering, for Chilton's reaction to embed so much defensive sass, even in observational form -- but the emphasis lay with defensive. This was uncharted territory as according to his expertise, both invigorating and somewhat frightening. One could only imagine how Toby himself might feel amidst the madness.]

I don't mean to sound flippant -- [for the quick recovery.] -- It is simply quite a lot to take in. Your story is a remarkable one, Tobias, I can't say I know anyone else who has attracted as much supernatural phenomena as you have. I think I will include Lucifer in that comparison.

[More of a supernatural magnet than Lucifer himself? Quite the claim.]

Perhaps it is something about you. [Something innate to Toby, to his personality, that offers these opportunities? Chilton had considered it, even before the details of this werewolf business emerged. It seemed very probably that Toby was special, if not as currency then as a current -- or something -- that invited in these bizarre events.] Not to say you have an conscious influence over what has happened, I don't mean to imply that.

But it's just curious, isn't it? A werewolf bond with a vampire. Nothing is that sentence resonates with the mundane, not even -- apparently -- to people who live as werewolves.

Is all this already too normal for you?
