[During feeding, Toby is both vulnerable and dangerous. He's docile and easy to manipulate given the right cues, lulled into a sense of security, and if someone wants to get the jump on him, they could. However, feeding is also Toby's road to recovery, and he's usually so much more alive during and right after feeding. And that would make him a force to be reckoned with.
Now that he's pacified, Toby regains some clarity of mind. Looking back to their first meeting, the first time he'd traded a peek into his mind for Abduxel's blood, there's something strange and different about things this time around. For one, this feeding isn't related to and won't be for trading a memory. Another thing is that this time seems strangely more... intimate than the first. Somehow; Toby isn't sure he knows, maybe it's just in his head.
He does realize that Abduxel isn't the same as Dorian, though. He could tell that while the demon enjoys it, there's some other tension; fear, perhaps? or is it something else? And Abduxel the demon can't possibly have that much more blood than if he were a human. So Toby thinks about this—he could be selfish and take as much blood as possible just to test the demon's limits. Or, he could stop before putting Abduxel in a dangerously weakened state.
Maybe it's because he wants to be the better person and maintain a tolerable relationship with Abduxel that he chooses the latter. As he finishes up, he pinches his lips over the wounds and laps up stray rivulets of blood, trying to keep his mess to a minimum before carefully drawing back completely. Even in the darkness, it's as if there's more colour and life in Toby than usual. He looks pleased enough about dinner as he wipes his mouth with the back of one of his hands.]
