It tends to save some trouble. And you're right, I'm taking this all very seriously.
Because I didn't want to hurt anyone, no. But there's little I could do about my dietary restrictions.

I'm so used to hiding the whole thing about being a vampire, and that carried over here as well.

And then they don't really wait up for my side of the story.

I mean, were you some sort of intern or a clerk perhaps?
Anyway, I understand. And think it's important to place some value on one's reasons or motivations.
Moreover, this is a place with so many different types of people.
Surely there are others among the imPorts facing similar plights and fearing what discovery might mean for them.

Is that something you try to keep secret, or do you not mind others knowing about it?
I'd understand not really telling others since people have a way of questioning the validity of spirit mediums.
That's probably a universal constant.
