Tobias may one day learn to change the greeting on his voicemail. Until then, there's only the default.

Don't what?
[He's got a knife in his hand, suddenly, the tip of it pressed to his other wrist but not cutting. He's nearly whispering.]
You like it, don't you? What's wrong with that?
no subject
Suddenly, he stands and places his drink on the table. He tries not to be shaky, musters whatever confidence and control he can, and he speaks without looking at Abduxel.]
I think I'm done. For tonight.

[He stays seated, watching Toby, and immediately drags the blade far down his own arm.
The things he does to torment people.]

Another slurp, another frustrated swallow.]
—can we at least take this outside?

Smilingly,]
What are you doing, Toby?
i think he wants to weep, LOL
[He considers grabbing at him again before catching himself and realizing that he must seem completely out of his mind at this point.]
What do you want from me, what exactly are you trying to get me to do?
no subject
I'm not trying to make you do anything. I'm just getting to know you, Toby.
no subject
Not out here, please.
[If only he could have some blood and then perhaps bury his head in a hole and hide from the worst part of his undead life. Well, maybe it's not exactly the worst, but still.]
no subject
But you wanted to come out here?

See what?
...i need a more appropriately pissed off icon. oh well
Still, Toby's expression has never looked so commanding, as if daring the demon to defy him further. As if he might actually do something dangerously unlike his usual self.
But then he turns away, pulling the demon by the wrist to drag him into the closest dark alley he could find.]

Toby, Toby, Toby. I never give things away. What am I getting out of this? Or are you just going to take it from me?
no subject
Ah, of course. A trade.
Because even if he just takes it, surely he'll still owe the demon. While he'd made that mistake in the past, he knows with complete certainty that owing Abduxel is probably one fo the worst ideas he could ever have.]
I'll trade you. Something. But not memories—not this time.
[Then it hits him... He can't believe he's making a trade the same night of paying for the last one.]

It's fascinating seeing Toby like this. So aggressive, so strong. It's kind of attractive, although it skirts the line between that and dangerous - given that Toby really could just take what he wanted, if he chose to.
He examines Toby's face, chin to forehead, and takes a pause to wet his lips.]
Not memories. Sure. I can show you different magic.
no subject
But instead, ] What, is it something else that needs blood?
[His gaze goes from the demon's eyes to his lips, then flicks a glance at the blood running down the demon's arm and getting on his clothes, before settling on his neck.]
Fine, whatever. I'll bite, I'll let you play with me. Which is exactly what you always do anyway.
[He takes a deep breath—ugh, so warm and metallic, it's so good—before taking a careful step back and releasing Abduxel.]
no subject
[He straightens out as he's released, smoothing his clothes.]
It requires blood, too. But you can bite me, first.
hope you're cool with this
Then his fangs are out, scraping skin as Toby opens wide, and then driving hard into the demon's neck, lips clamping over the wound to prevent any blood from escaping.]

The feeling of blood pulling from him is a strange one; the memory of that feeling didn't do it justice. He waits for Toby to finish, enjoying and enduring this in equal measure, although he's hyper-vigilant of his own state. Given how much he teased the vampire, he was prepared for the possibility that Toby might try to take too much.]

Now that he's pacified, Toby regains some clarity of mind. Looking back to their first meeting, the first time he'd traded a peek into his mind for Abduxel's blood, there's something strange and different about things this time around. For one, this feeding isn't related to and won't be for trading a memory. Another thing is that this time seems strangely more... intimate than the first. Somehow; Toby isn't sure he knows, maybe it's just in his head.
He does realize that Abduxel isn't the same as Dorian, though. He could tell that while the demon enjoys it, there's some other tension; fear, perhaps? or is it something else? And Abduxel the demon can't possibly have that much more blood than if he were a human. So Toby thinks about this—he could be selfish and take as much blood as possible just to test the demon's limits. Or, he could stop before putting Abduxel in a dangerously weakened state.
Maybe it's because he wants to be the better person and maintain a tolerable relationship with Abduxel that he chooses the latter. As he finishes up, he pinches his lips over the wounds and laps up stray rivulets of blood, trying to keep his mess to a minimum before carefully drawing back completely. Even in the darkness, it's as if there's more colour and life in Toby than usual. He looks pleased enough about dinner as he wipes his mouth with the back of one of his hands.]

He makes another small noise both when the fangs exit, and when Toby finishes by pressing his lips more firmly there.
He sighs and relaxes his posture when Toby draws back, and lets go of where he's gripped the vampire. He leans against the wall languidly, tilting his head at Toby with a little smile.]
Quite the fangs you have.
