| Profile Name: Tobias Matthews Powers: Vampirism Housing: Occupation: First Impressions Appearance Looks to be in his early 20s. 5'10 (179 cm) and medium athletic build with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. Typically tries to be well-dressed but is inclined to use whatever resources at hand, making questionable fashion choices at times. (Icons: Christopher Egan from Crush, Kings, Letters to Juliet) Also, it isn't obvious at first glance that Toby is a vampire; his fangs don't seem to show until feeding time. However, one may note he has no reflection, pictures, or videos. (Though, with Haen's help, he can have a reflection and has taken some pictures.) Voice and Speech His voice is rich; he speaks with a Northern England English accent. Normally, he gives off a natural air of ease, coolness, and control. [sample] He is canonically played by Hugh Skinner. Scents He is hygienic at the very least, and isn't big on cologne or strong smells because he has a sensitive nose. Anyone with a highly acute sense of smell might catch the faintest trace scent of blood or death on him. Also, he'll quite easily and quickly smell like ash and cinders when exposed to sunlight. Mannerisms and Body Language Won't shy away from a handshake, but he's got cold hands. If one gets close enough, they'll find his breath is strangely cold as well. He doesn't mind grabbing drinks—will order a Jack Daniels where he could—but never seems to eat. Nor does he go out during the daytime. Prolonged talk of the smell and taste of fresh blood can make him hungry and cause him to salivate. Living for hundreds of years has taught him the importance of being observant and knowing how to act in all sorts of company, so he usually tries to adjust quickly, asks questions, and even attempts to use new jargon as soon as he learns it. Generally, he's polite and personable but isn't necessarily big on conversation. Although he can be pretty confident most of the time, he is not very good at debate and often knows to bow out when outclassed. He also can be sarcastic, childish, and passive aggressive at times. For example, he doesn't seem overly fond of seriously discussing anything gory (a blood-sucker grossed out by hearing about a heart-eating siren?), yet he's unfazed by his own diet and blowing people's heads off in realistic-looking video games. Threadjacking: Yes. Thread hopping: Also yes. Thread hacking: Toby can't do anything about it, but please let me know. Backtagging: Yes, but I may drop threads over a month old. Handwaving: Happy to work something out with you. Fourthwalling: Unlikely to happen to him, but I'll avoid fourth-walling yours. Sex/Smut: I've become more comfortable with writing it, so sure. IC Permissions Physical Affection Generally, Toby goes with the flow, and doesn't mind hand-holding, hugging, flirting, kissing, or proposition. (They're all very flattering, but he's taken.) While tolerant of many minor annoyances, he is vocal about unwanted advances and will physically break or push away as well. He also may be confrontational about creeping, stalking, and snooping. Physical Violence & Injuries Normally, he isn't aggressive or hostile. He usually knows to bow out when outclassed. When he was turned into a vampire, he had a night of survival training before having to figure it out on his own. It's unknown whether he's had any involvement in the World Wars, and it's hard to determine exactly how strong he actually is or if he has any further skills and training in fighting or combat. Toby often is unwilling to start or engage a fight, especially if he's unlikely to win. But if he has to, he probably won't go all out unless his life is seriously threatened, or if he has tunnel vision from trying to reach or save Dorian. As a result of his overcompensating self-restraint, I expect him to take some damage and get injured. I don't think we have to discuss every little cut and bruise, but please clear more severe or critical injuries with me. Relationships Currently in-game married to Dorian Gray, and trying to live out a happily ever after. Torture & Death I'm all ears if anyone wants to torture Toby, whether physically or mentally or emotionally or whatever. And as much as Toby may not want to die, there are times when it's not really avoidable. So if there's a log going that direction, I am even willing to play Toby straight into death, meaning I'll just contact the mods and eventually bring him right back. Sound good? I think so. | ||||||
