So this deserves a little bit of backstory. At the last swear-in, I talked with Klarion—have you two met? He's a cute kid. Anyway, we got to talking, somehow ended up talking about Rome, and now Klarion's decided it would be a grand idea to shanghai me and Shade into a small little road trip.

[ so this is post test drive meme thread between Yuri & Dorian which Joey and I have agreed to keep as tdm canon. what this means is that Dorian is freaking the fuck out. His relationship with Yuri Petrov was...yeah. Man meets immortal, man does a good job keeping a lid on the crazy, immortal falls for man, man kills immortal, man possibly falls for immortal, man's supervillain identity is revealed, immortal fails to keep a lid on the crazy, immortal kills man, man gets arrested, man dies via a jail cell literally collapsing on him, immortal has mixed feelings out the whoa.

he's still planning on having his birthday party on Saturday (because hey, party, can't go wrong with parties). But between Toby dying, Drew confessing to murdering Toby, and Yuri showing up, Dorian's gonna be drinking like a fish.

He doesn't want to tell anybody about Yuri. Partly because there's a small little part of Dorian that's scared, partly because there's a large part of Dorian that's selfish (Yuri's back! his Yuri is back! and he's the only one who knows.) He's certainly not going to tell anyone about Lunatic because he's not an idiot, Dorian doesn't want to die.

Except Toby. Toby's always the exception. And Toby deserves to know.

So the sun's setting as Dorian leans up against the wall of Toby's room just waiting for the vampire to wake up because he needs to know. Toby has "perfect target for Lunatic" written all over him and Dorian'll be damned if Yuri hurts him. Poor Toby's been hurt enough already. Occasionally Dorian checks the network on his communicator, illuminating the room with a faint glow, as if checking it will somehow make Yuri post to the network (what would he say anyway? 'Hey there guys, it's Yuri Petrov, who remembers me or more accurately who remembers the fact that I'm slightly homicidal?')

This entire scenario is a trainwreck. And a trainwreck that he's going to have to explain to Toby when the other man wakes up. ]

[A regular Sunday suddenly feels just a little more demonic.

Sometime in the early post-sunset hours, while being outdoors, Toby will feel a bit warm before he hears Abduxel's silky voice crooning in his ear like a ghost going OOooOOooO. But there's no demon to be seen:]

His name's Tobias Matthews but I can call him Toby. He's just so kind and wonderful and he's literally the best thing that's ever happened to me. We met back home, in the 1980s, at a costume party. He's ten times a better person than I am and I really wish that everybody could just SEE that. He's gotten so much shit lately but is it his fault? Of course not, sometimes these things just happen and if everybody back home knew the full story and knew about those damn tarot cards, then they'd see just how wonderful he is like I do.
