Possibly. [Inwardly hoping this won't go where he thinks this will go, though there's more than one direction. Still, there are some that just aren't good, so far as Toby's concerned.] I guess that all depends...

[He leans forward a little.]

How hungry you are?

[He draws back but can only move so far without being ridiculous.]

Perhaps.

[His eyes narrow, brows furrow, body language becomes guarded again. The hunger, he hates it as much as he needs it, and it only worsens when others taunt him about killing. Quick and efficient, or something he'd rather savour? Doesn't he want the blood, its richness and warmth when it's fresh from the hunt? And how he hates siring so much, after taking blood he robs people of their very lives before moving along.]

Perhaps.

[He says it a bit mockingly, but not meanly. Well, sort of.]

What would you do if I spilled blood right here, right now? I'm just curious. How long does it take before you let go?

[Toby's stuck, his imagination taking over at the thought of the demon's rich, thick, delicious blood. He swallows, but his mouth just keeps watering. And it even seems to affect his breathing; the way he's keyed up, he has to breathe slower, deeper.]

Ugh— [He swallows.] —don't.

[Quietly,]

Don't what?

[He's got a knife in his hand, suddenly, the tip of it pressed to his other wrist but not cutting. He's nearly whispering.]

You like it, don't you? What's wrong with that?

[He winds up slurping a little—involuntarily—and he tries to look away from the demon. But what he already knows, he can't quite avoid, and Abduxel is right there to torment him.

Suddenly, he stands and places his drink on the table. He tries not to be shaky, musters whatever confidence and control he can, and he speaks without looking at Abduxel.]

I think I'm done. For tonight.

I'm not. I'm still going.

[He stays seated, watching Toby, and immediately drags the blade far down his own arm.

The things he does to torment people.]

[Out the corner of his eye, he sees the knife's movement, and his mind fills in the blanks. He's torn between his burning curiosity and the knowledge that Abduxel is toying with him, testing and tempting him.

Another slurp, another frustrated swallow.]

—can we at least take this outside?

[Wordlessly, he tosses money onto the table with a huge grin, not bothering to count, and begins to walk outside. The bartender sees the state of his arm and looks alarmed, but Abduxel ignores him completely.]

[The air outside is quite heavy and humid rather than fresh and calming. Once they're out the door, Toby's hand snatches at Abduxel's wrist, as he hopes to drag the demon into the nearest dark alley to deal with their predicament.]

[He dodges the snatch by yanking his wrist away before Toby's hand closes, although he's close enough to Toby that it would be easy for the vampire to take a more substantial grab at him and thereby be successful.

Why are you asking?

[He considers grabbing at him again before catching himself and realizing that he must seem completely out of his mind at this point.]

What do you want from me, what exactly are you trying to get me to do?

[He holds up his own arm to look at the blood run, idly. He's still smirking, but he's clearly allowing his own guard to be down in case Toby did just get physical with him in lieu of navigating his bullshit. He's tempting him, dangling an easy prize.]

I'm not trying to make you do anything. I'm just getting to know you, Toby.

[He sighs and tries to compose himself, but it's hard when he can smell that familiar metallic tang and just knows how fresh and rich and wonderful the demon's blood is.]

Not out here, please.

[If only he could have some blood and then perhaps bury his head in a hole and hide from the worst part of his undead life. Well, maybe it's not exactly the worst, but still.]

[Abduxel steps forward to place his hand - of the bleeding arm - on Toby's shoulder.]

But you wanted to come out here?

[Toby turns and tries—again—to take Abduxel by the wrist as he answers in a low voice that's almost a snarl, ] I meant not where just anyone can see.

[Abduxel grabs Toby by the chin, then, even as the vampire clasps his wrist. He stands in close, well into Toby's personal bubble. He isn't a match if Toby decides to pull his wrist away, shove him, or drag him elsewhere; but he'll be as belligerent as Toby allows him. Suggestively and with a sly, wolfish grin,]

[When the demon takes him by the chin, Toby pauses and glares right into Abduxel's eyes. Standing so close now, Toby realizes they're nearly the same eye level; he's only slightly taller, the difference barely significant.

Still, Toby's expression has never looked so commanding, as if daring the demon to defy him further. As if he might actually do something dangerously unlike his usual self.

But then he turns away, pulling the demon by the wrist to drag him into the closest dark alley he could find.]

[That look! Abduxel isn't exactly intimidated, but the commanding expression does its duty; he meets Toby's eye and looks almost coy, and then allows the vampire to drag him off somewhere.]

Toby, Toby, Toby. I never give things away. What am I getting out of this? Or are you just going to take it from me?

[That absolutely delicious scent is quite literally turning him into a monster, and Toby hates every moment of craving blood. Once they're in the alley, Toby tries to shove and pin Abduxel against the wall before properly comprehending him.

Ah, of course. A trade.

Because even if he just takes it, surely he'll still owe the demon. While he'd made that mistake in the past, he knows with complete certainty that owing Abduxel is probably one fo the worst ideas he could ever have.]

I'll trade you. Something. But not memories—not this time.

[Then it hits him... He can't believe he's making a trade the same night of paying for the last one.]
