Tobias may one day learn to change the greeting on his voicemail. Until then, there's only the default.

I've been asking around here to see what sort of game consoles would be best because honestly, I don't have the slightest idea where to start.
Suggestions?
[ Dorian has not roomed with anyone who remotely plays video games, congrats Toby he is 100% out of his depth right here ]

Watch it have a ridiculously embarrassing, cheap knockoff brand name. Playcenter. Enjoystation.
I still want it anyway, so there's that. Anything with shooter games sounds perfectly fine.
Anyway, what did I get you as a present?
no subject
As for what you got me? [ you got dead, NO WAIT, NOT SAYING THAT ]
The sad thing is, I got pulled here before I could open my presents. And yes, 'Dorian why didn't you shake the box or peek in the wrapping or open it while I set up the Playstation?' Well, the answer to that was I was hungover on Christmas Day and it simply didn't enter my mind. Happy Christmas?
no subject
Wait, you really got hungover on Christmas Day? Well, did we plan on staying in?
Damn. How am I supposed to outdo myself if I don't know what I'd given you?
I imagine you aren't exactly interested in a Playstation.
But then again, I still have other things to work with here.
I don't quite know the circumstance back home.
no subject
We did plan on staying in but we ended up going out a little bit.
(and don't ask me about what happened when we went out, I got pulled here before we could actually do something)
[ he is a DAMN LIAR ]

No, you know what? I'll laugh anyway. You just can't hear it in text.
Oh, damn. Did you at least know where we were going to?
Or was it something I planned, like a surprise Christmas treat?
no subject
And it was something you planned. All I knew is that we were going out.

Dorian Gray: predictable. The man who never changes and yet never stays quite the same.
Quite the paradox.
Anyway, so it was something I'd planned. All right.
Well, nothing I can quite do about that now, so I'll just have to think bigger and better than my future self!
Should be something exciting and perhaps involve some degree of risk, I think.
no subject
And this trip sounds wonderful already. I LOVE a degree of risk.

Hardly the sort of man who does things in moderation.
It's not like there's really a halfway with you.
And I know you do. How have you not taken on "The Gambler" as a proper superhero or supervillain nickname?
no subject
Yes, I rarely do things in moderation, but I'd rather be remembered as cunning wordplay over sheer volume.
And as for the Gambler, I already took on a supervillain name! There was a brief period last summer when I was a costumed criminal. I took on the name Faust.
no subject
But perhaps only to those who know you well enough.
You're always hiding in plain sight.
Last summer, you say—before, or after my arrival?
This isn't the same as that caper with The Shade, was it?
no subject
But no, it's not the same as that caper with Shade. That time it was straight illegal. This time, I managed to work it so that even if they turned me in, I'd be able to swing a better sentence.
The perks of operating against an illegal vigilante group.
no subject
What was the 'better' sentence you got?
How on earth had I not noticed?

It's strange to be in a world where one might not even serve jail time for murder.
Strange and beneficial, that is.
Anyway, that whole bit where you were staying home and trying to be a good boy suddenly makes complete sense.
I doubt you would have been otherwise.
no subject
But you're right: I wouldn't have been a good boy unless provoked.
no subject
Given the choice between a slap on the wrist and jail time, of course you'd choose the former.
And maybe you were all right the first week and a half before you decided to test the limits of your probation.
Am I right?
